Fees & Compliance

Notary fee
South Carolina allows up to $5 per notarial act (per certificate, not per page).
Travel / convenience fees
Travel fees are separate from the notary fee and are disclosed and agreed upon prior to the appointment.
In-person only (No RON)
South Carolina does not permit Remote Online Notarization (RON). All notarizations are completed in person.
I follow South Carolina notary requirements, including proper identification, signer appearance, and correct completion of the notarial certificate.

How It Works

1) Schedule
Call/text to confirm availability, location, and any travel fee before meeting.
2) Bring valid ID
Each signer must have a valid, unexpired photo ID. All signers must be present.
3) Sign and notarize
Unless instructed otherwise by the document issuer, do not sign until the appointment. I’ll complete the certificate and apply the seal.
I can explain what your document is asking for (acknowledgment vs jurat), but I can’t choose the notarial act for you. If unclear, confirm with the document issuer, attorney, or title company.

Service Area

Based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and serving Horry County and nearby areas. If you’re on the Grand Strand, call/text for availability.

FAQ

What’s the difference between an acknowledgment and a jurat?
An acknowledgment confirms identity and willingness to sign. A jurat includes an oath/affirmation and requires the signer to sign in front of the notary.
Do you offer Remote Online Notarization (RON)?
No. South Carolina does not permit RON. All notarizations are completed in person.
How much does a notarization cost?
Up to $5 per notarial act under South Carolina law (per certificate, not per page). Any mobile travel fee is separate and confirmed before we meet.
What counts as a “notarial act” — is it $5 per page?
The notary fee applies per notarial act/certificate (for example: one acknowledgment or one jurat), not per page. Some documents contain multiple notarizations.
What ID do you accept?
Each signer needs a valid, unexpired photo ID. If you have questions about your ID, call/text and I’ll let you know before we meet.
Do all signers need to be present?
Yes. Everyone signing must be present for identity verification and any required oath/affirmation.
Do I need to sign in front of you?
It depends on the certificate. Jurats require signing in front of the notary. For acknowledgments, the document may already be signed, but the signer must still appear in person to acknowledge the signature.
Can you choose which notarization I need?
I can explain the difference between acknowledgment and jurat, but I can’t choose the notarial act for you. If it’s unclear, confirm with the document issuer or attorney/title company.
Do you provide witnesses?
If your document requires witnesses, it’s best for you to provide them. If you have a special situation, call/text ahead of time so we can discuss options.
Do you notarize real estate closings?
I can notarize real estate documents in person when directed by the closing attorney or title company. South Carolina is an attorney-closing state, so the attorney/title company controls the closing process.
What types of documents won’t you notarize?
I can’t notarize if the signer isn’t present, can’t be properly identified, appears unwilling, doesn’t understand what they’re signing, or if the document is incomplete in a way that prevents a proper notarization.
